Tara is a graduate of Mt. Mercy University, Reflexology-Plus, and East-West School of Integrative Healing Arts. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree, is a Certified Registered Reflexologist, a Reiki Master-Teacher, and a member of the Reflexology Association of Iowa. In addition to completing programs in Reflexology, Reiki, and Massage Therapy, Tara has training in other alternative healing modalities, including Light Language, Bach Flower Remedies, and various Energy Healing modalities. She is a practitioner of the divination arts, using gemstones and cards as assistive tools. Tara uses her abilities to communicate with spirits and spirit guides to aid in the healing process.
Tara’s approach to healing is centered on the premise that we each have all that we need within ourselves; we just may not know how to access it. Each confidential session focuses on the client’s current needs and life circumstances. Client education is a key part of any treatment session.
Tara teaches community education classes to provide people with a better understanding of their bodies and how they can have a positive impact on their own lives, offering tools for students to use. Community education classes aren’t a substitute for professional sessions, but a source of empowerment and self-assistance to help between sessions.
What is Reflexology?
There is an abundance of nerve endings in the hands and feet that connect to every part of the body; if an organ or gland is out of balance this can be detected on the hands and feet. When the body experiences pain or tension, the muscles in that area contract and the corresponding areas on the feet and hands will feel tender or painful. By palpating this Reflex point, the practitioner can relax the muscles, and connect to the nerve endings. This will relieve the pain and balance that muscle, organ, or gland.
Reflexology relaxes the muscles of the body. This improves the cardiovascular system, which enables the respiratory systems to bring more oxygen into the blood stream and to every cell in the body, which supports healing. All organs and glands in the body thereby benefit and can function to the best of the body’s ability. The “back to normal” effect or harmony in the organ or structure is produced by a rebalance of the sympathetic & parasympathetic nervous systems.
